One of my hobbies is going to Miyajima. The photo here is of Miyajima, I go to Miyajima once a month with my friends because I like to be a guide for incoming tourists. I have met many foreigners. For example, I met people who are Finnish, Australian, Canadian, and so on. Miyajima is a good place for meeting people. One of the famous things at Miyajima is Momiji-Manju. There are many different tastes. For example, cream, green tea, a sweet potato, and so on. They are all good. And I recommend that you try Agemomiji. It is fried Momiji-Manju and very popular. You should eat Agemomiji in the shop and you should get Momiji-Manju some to-go.
Next, I recommend that you try to climb Mt. Misen.Mt. Misen is situated in the center of Miyajima Island. You should climb Mt. Misen because when you arrive at the top of the mountain, you can see a wonderful view. You should then eat the Momiji-Manju you got to-go.
If you have time, you should go Miyajima Public Aquarium. But Miyajima Public Aquarium is closed for renovation right now. The aquarium will reopen August 2011. There are sea lions, penguins, otters and so on. The new aquarium will be more interactive than ever.
For these reasons, I recommend Miyajima. Miyajima makes you relax. You can breathe in fresh air at Misen. When you are stressed out with your life, you should go there. If you go to Miyajima, please tell me. Let’s go to Miyajima together.

Do you think the renovated aquarium will help to make Miyajima more popular, or do you think it won't make much difference to the number of people who visit?

I think this aquarium will be becoming more popular. Many people who is children or someone who has kids heart will want to go to Miyajima more because In Hiroshima, there isn't a aquarium. In my opinion,those people are looking foward to going to aquarium.

I think it is harder climbing down Mt. Misen than climbing up. My legs were killing me after coming down.
If you were guiding someone around Miyajima, would you take the "ropeway" or get them to climb?

I can't tell you exact time because there are three routes. You can choose a route. It will take at least three hours. It is not hard but there are lot of steps.

I've been to Miyajima for many times but I haven't tried Agemomiji yet...let's go together next time:D

In my opinion, Itsukushima Shrine is most attractive point because it is a traditional shrine.Many foreigners can feel Japanese atmosphere.
